Ozempic

Ozempic

Product Description:

Ozempic is a prescription medication used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus and is also approved to help reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, and death in people with type 2 diabetes and known heart disease. The active ingredient in Ozempic is semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist (glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist) that helps regulate blood sugar levels by enhancing insulin secretion when blood sugar is high and suppressing the production of glucose by the liver.

In addition to its effects on blood sugar control, Ozempic also promotes weight loss by slowing gastric emptying, which helps reduce appetite. It is typically administered once a week as a subcutaneous (under the skin) injection, making it a convenient option for people with diabetes.

Uses:

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus to control blood sugar levels

Reduces the risk of major cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke, death) in patients with diabetes and heart disease
