Mechanism of Action:
Nitazoxanide interferes with the pyruvate:ferredoxin oxidoreductase (PFOR) enzyme-dependent electron transfer reaction, which is essential for anaerobic energy metabolism in protozoa and anaerobic bacteria, ultimately leading to parasite death.
