Eltrombopag Olamine 50 mg is an oral thrombopoietin receptor agonist used to treat conditions associated with low platelet counts. It is indicated for patients with chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) who have had an insufficient response to corticosteroids, immunoglobulins, or splenectomy. It is also used to treat thrombocytopenia in patients with chronic hepatitis C to allow for interferon-based therapy, and for severe aplastic anemia in patients unresponsive to other treatments.
